Tuesday, February 04, 2014
On Friday, January 31st, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake stopped by the Fleet Maintenance Division’s Northeast Substation for DGS Employee Appreciation Day. The Mayor brought superb weather along for her tour of the facility, which included examples of police cruiser repairs and a demonstration of the Fleet Management System software. Many thanks to the staff of the Northeast Substation and all of the amazing DGS employees everywhere else!

“Preserve the Past, Maintain the Present, Build a Sustainable Future!”

The Department of General Services (DGS) was created on July 1, 2009, having been a division of the Department of Public Works. DGS endeavors to make the City of Baltimore a leader in municipal energy efficiency, an innovator in the application of technology and a sustainable steward of government and community resources. And, our team saves taxpayers nearly $6 million each year through energy efficiency projects.

The Department of General Services has five divisions which provide services to City agencies and residents of Baltimore:

Fleet Management effectively manages the City’s vehicle operations and facilities.

Facilities Maintenance

Design & Construction/Major Projects

Energy
