City Government Recycling:
- City government locations may request weekly recycling pickup by calling the Recycling Office at (410) 396-4511.
- All recycling materials should be placed in paper bags, cardboard boxes, recycle bins, or any container of choice (not more then 32-gallons each) that is clearly marked “recycle”.
Business Recycling:
Recycling is an important component in creating a cleaner and greener City. Mayor Rawlings-Blake and the Department of Public Works (DPW) want to increase recycling efforts in the City of Baltimore and we need your help.
- Small businesses located within residential communities may participate in the City of Baltimore’s Single Stream Recycling program, free of charge, by following the curbside collection schedule for the area they are located within. To determine your recycling collection schedule, enter your address on Baltimore City View
- All recycling materials should be placed in paper bags, cardboard boxes, recycle bins, or any container of choice that is clearly marked “recycle”.
- All recycling material should be set out for collection no later then 6am.

- Businesses, small and large, that are not located within a residential community are encouraged to seek private recycling collection services. For a listing of private recycling companies you may want to contact, please access the Recycling Processors list, which has been compiled by the Maryland Department of Environment.
School Recycling:
All public and private schools located within the City of Baltimore are encouraged to participate in our single stream recycling program.
- Recycling will be picked up once a week from an outside point, i.e. front door, side door or loading dock area. All material should be set out by 8 a.m.
- Educational recycling presentations are available. They are tailored to school-aged children, covering such things as:
- Protecting the environment
- Reducing the amount of trash created
- Reusing/donating old or unwanted items
- Recycling at home and at school
- Developing a “Recycling Club” and possibly earning student service learning hours
