Market Day is famous for great plants and wildflowers. More than a dozen growers from around the region will offer specialty plants, wildflowers, azaleas, vegetables—all your plant needs! Experts will also give demonstrations on the benefits of rain gardens and permaculture, and how to compost effectively or install a rain barrel. Parking on the grounds: $5; parking on Cylburn Avenue or at Sinai Hospital (off Greenspring Ave.) is free and a complimentary shuttle to Market Day is available. Come early for best selection!

11th Annual Senior Health and Fitness Day “Walk The Zoo – For A Healthier You”

Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

Baltimore City seniors  will join thousands of others across the country in celebrating National Senior Health and Fitness Day. Seniors will arrive at the Zoo’s main entrance at 11 a.m.  then board the tram for a brief ride up to the exhibit entrance. They can walk at their leisure through the Zoo and staff at various stations where the seniors can get their cards stamped to show how much walking they did.  A picnic lunch will be served with some music and games at the Water Fowl Pavilion.  Several animal ambassadors (with trainers of course!)  will mingle with attendees.
