Built in 1957, the center became well known for the skating program, which began in 1963. In 1976, a skating room was added to the site.
Located in Northeast Baltimore, the first Center Director was Anna White, who retired in 1978. Bernie Miller, who started the preschool, followed and retired in 1996. Rosalee Velenovsky, Gardenville’s next director, remained until 1999.
Also know for its senior program, the center currently has some seniors who have been members for over 30 years.
