Center History
On Dec. 17, 1980, Oliver Recreation Center was dedicated to the community under the direction of Mr. Anthony Dease. Mr. Dease led the “Deaser-cize” aerobics class and was the center’s exercise guru who brought many of the community’s heath conscious participants into the center. Working with the late William (Bucky) Lee who was considered one of the greatest basketball coaches in the City, Mr. Dease earned a reputation for having one of the most active recreation centers in Baltimore.
