Park Circle Intersection Improvement Project

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation held a public meeting on March 27, 2013 for the Park Circle Intersection Improvement Project.  During the meeting, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation presented two concept plans for improvements to the intersection.  We have included PDF files of both concepts for the community’s review and reference.  Also included is the matrix of options developed. The matrix outlines the transportation needs and goals of the community. The matrix was developed as result of previous comments and suggestions received to date from members of the community.  BCDOT invites feedback from the community on the current options presented for intersection improvements at Park Circle.

BCDOT has scheduled a follow-up public meeting for May 20, 2013 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist (2812 Reisterstown Road) to review the options and receive feedback from the community in order to move forward on one of the options.  The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Please  contact, Kohl Fallin, DOT NW Transportation Liaison at kohl.fallin@baltimorecity.gov for additional information  or comments regarding this project.

Southeast Baltimore Complete Streets Plan

Baltimore City Department of Transportation is pleased to present the Southeast Baltimore Complete Streets Plan. The plan is based on an extensive planning process which involved community representatives from every neighborhood in southeast Baltimore.

The plan is a shared vision between Baltimore neighborhoods and Baltimore City Department of Transportation for improving the environmental, economic, and social health of our neighborhoods through alternative transportation modes, greener streets, and adapting our public spaces to encourage positive street life. Because our roadways, sidewalks, and public spaces make up such a large portion of Baltimore’s total land area, we have a great opportunity to support the Mayor’s goal of attracting 10,000 families to the city by creating a more livable public realm. We hope the plan encourages residents, developers, and other public agencies to rethink what city streets can contribute to our communities.

BCDOT is grateful to the dozens of residents and community leaders who helped to develop this plan. With their leadership, we have already taken the first implementation steps – the creation of more than 150 additional on street parking spaces through reverse angle parking. In the coming months, we will have additional traffic calming and greening projects constructed in the southeast as well.

Design-Build Policy

The purpose of this policy, which may be used by any agency responsible for the construction of public works, is to establish guidelines for the use of the design-build project delivery method.
