BikeBaltimore is the Department of Transportation’s bike program. Managed by the Planning Section, BikeBaltimore includes anything bike related including implementing the Bicycle Master Plan, incorporating cycling in many transportation projects, installing bike racks and coordinating cycling events. The Bicycle Master Plan was developed by the Department of Planning in 2006. Since then, Baltimore has installed 42 on-street bike lane miles and is adding more every year. The Bicycle Master Plan was developed by the Department of Planning in 2006 and is currently being updated to reflect the city's successes & plan for the immediate future. Baltimore boasts over 100 miles of bike facilities and 39 miles of off-road trails.
Bicycle Master Plan Update
The Department of Transportation is updating the 2006 Bicycle Master Plan. The plan update will establish infrastructure and programming goals for the next 15 years.
