Baltimore Book Festival Traffic Modifications
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic and parking modifications in effect for the Baltimore Book Festival. The event will be held on September 28-30, 2012 in the heart of historic Mount Vernon.
In preparation for the festival, a curb lane closure will be implemented along the following roadway starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 through 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 02, 2012 with parking restricted:
- Cathedral Street (east side) from W. Mount Vernon Place to Peabody Mews
Curb lane closures will be implemented along the following roadways starting at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 through 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 01, 2012 with parking restricted:
- N. Charles Street (east side) from East Branch Lane to East Mount Vernon Place
- N. Charles Street (west side) from West Branch Lane to Madison Street
- W. Madison Street (south side) from Charles to Morton Streets
- N. Charles Street (east side) from Peabody Mews to E. Mount Vernon Place
- N. Charles Street (east side) from Madison Street to approximately 40 feet north of Madison Street
Curb lane closures will be implemented along the following roadways starting at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 through 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 02, 2012 with parking restricted:
- E. Mount Vernon Place (south side) from St. Paul Street to approximately 40 feet west of St. Paul Street
- W. Mt. Vernon Place (south side) from Cathedral Street to 40 feet west of Cathedral Street
- N. Charles Street (west side) between east and westbound Mt. Vernon Place
The following streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 through 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 01, 2012 with parking restricted:
- East and West Mt. Vernon Place from St. Paul to Cathedral Streets
- E. Monument Street from Calvert to St. Paul Streets
- Hargrove Alley from E. Madison Street to E. Mount Vernon Place
The following streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 01, 2012 with parking restricted:
- East and West Branch Lane from St. Paul to Cathedral Streets
- N. Charles Street from Centre to Madison Streets
The following streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 01, 2012 with parking restricted:
- Charles Street from Madison to Read Streets
- East Madison Street from St. Paul to Charles Streets
- West Madison Street from Charles to Cathedral Streets
- Lovegrove Street from E. Read Street to E. Branch Lane
A curb lane closure will be implemented along the following roadway at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 01, 2012 with parking restricted:
- Read Street (south side) from Charles to Cathedral Streets
Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to pay strict attention to posted parking restrictions should consider using alternate routes.
