Emergency Management / Baltimore City CERT

The Baltimore City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program prepares communities for disaster by educating community members about disaster preparedness and response. Areas covered in training include: basic disaster response, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Upon completion of training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood in the immediate aftermath of a disaster where government resources may be overwhelmed or unavailable. CERT members are also encouraged to support their communities by taking an active role in emergency preparedness projects.

Baltimore City CERT is managed by the Citizen Corps Council of Baltimore City and Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management.
