Mayor's Office of Neighborhood and Constituent Services

The Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods (MON) was established based on a recommendation of the Neighborhood Planning Program Steering Committee, and the Neighborhood Revitalization Transition Team in 2001. These committees consisted of a diverse group of community leaders, foundation directors, community development corporation representatives and others that have a passionate interest in improving Baltimore City neighborhoods.

Vision

The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods contributes to an improved quality of life for Baltimore City residents. We facilitate communication between city government and its constituents, foster cooperation between these entities and relay information in both directions to help ensure that community needs and concerns are being addressed.

Mission:

We ensure that city government is an effective partner with residents and community leaders to improve their quality of life and to strengthen our neighborhoods. This is achieved through government-led initiatives and coordinated interagency responses to community needs and concerns. Neighborhood Liaisons are responsible for carrying out the mission of the office within their assigned areas.
