Cultivating Body Respect for EveryBODY

Cultivating Body Respect for EveryBODY

Saturday, November 8, 2014 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt is pleased to present Dr. Linda Bacon, an internationally-recognized authority on topics relating to nutrition, weight, and health. Bacon is the best-selling author of Health at Every Size: The Surprising Truth About Your Weight, which explains through science how people can overcome their weight struggles and improve their health—without dieting, deprivation, or a focus on weight loss. Her most recent book, Body Respect, is seen as the insider’s guide not just to nutrition and our bodies, but to all that’s misunderstood about them.

During Bacon’s presentation Cultivating Body Respect for EveryBODY, she will expose popular weight myths and ease concerns that dieting or controlling eating are a necessary or valuable part of attaining a healthy or desirable body. Additionally, she will translate the latest science into practical, everyday advice that will give attendees the confidence needed to combat unhealthy cultural ideas and regain a trusting relationship with their body.
