As the snow season approaches, each vehicle designated as a snow removal vehicle must be fitted with the proper parts. The salt delivery system must be cleaned out, lubricated and attached to each vehicle. Each part must be looked over, tightened and tested. The vehicles must also be re-fitted with the plow attachments. The streets of Baltimore are at times very rough on the plows and many have damage, rust and other malfunctions that must be identified and corrected before the equipment can be put to use. This information is given regularly until the total number of completed vehicles is 100%
Requesting the exact numbers of vehicles that have received this preventative maintenance before the first snow hits Baltimore’s streets is one of the many ways CitiStat ensures the quality of care given to our City vehicles and the citizens of Baltimore continues to be excellent.
