Excerpt from recent memo to the Mayor:
Explanation of Memo Excerpt:
CitiStat pushed and tracked the Department on its way to repaving more lane miles in the city than ever before. The Department surpassed its initial goal of 150 lane miles, and has nearly doubled the number of lane miles resurfaced last year (79.82). As of October 19, 2007 the Department of Transportation had resurfaced 157.97 lane miles, the majority of which were outside the downtown area. But as mentioned above, the new lane markings were not always up to standard. The CitiStat Team is still investigating this issue and working with the Department to ensure that all of the newly repaved streets in the city look their best.
