Public Works Museum - Exhibits

A visit to the Museum takes you behind the scenes to learn the fascinating story of how public works services shape a modern city and its environment---the systems that give you clean water, sewage treatment, curb side trash removal, well-lit tree lined streets and study bridges and tunnels. Exhibits highlight historic photographs, video presentations, virtual truck driving school and interactive computer and challenges. The not to be missed outdoor Streetscape exhibit recreates a life size model of public amenities above and below our streets for kids of all ages to explore.

In addition to permanent exhibits the Museum hosts changing exhibits of public works related artwork or timely topics of interest.

The Museum collection includes over 4,000 photographic images dating from 1905 including glass plate negative and a growing collection of 18th and 19th century public works artifacts.
