Baltimore Heritage Area seeks Heritage Education and Outreach Administrator, Office of the Mayor

Job Description:

The Heritage Education and Outreach Administrator with the Baltimore Heritage Area will:

Coordinate with K-12 school systems in the region to promote visitation to Baltimore’s cultural heritage education institutions, sites, and attractions.
Assist with Baltimore’s heritage trails with guided and self-guided tour opportunities and printed and web-based materials. This includes assisting with group tours, scheduling tours, and outreach to schools and the public.
Administer the Authenticity Initiative, an effort to identify for residents and visitors the sites, services, and events that authentically convey the heritage of Baltimore.
Coordinate other thematic and physical linkage initiatives between cultural heritage educational institutions, sites, and attractions.
Assist with general administrative work for the Heritage Area.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Arts in Education, Museum Studies, Historic Preservation, History, or a closely related field. Applicants must also have at least 3 years work experience in a heritage museum, educational institution, or heritage preservation organization. Applicants may substitute 2 years of full time work experience for one year of graduate education.

Compensation:

One year contractual position, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Hourly wage rate commensurate with experience.
