New Directions/ReConnections: Baltimore Regional Summit on Transit Oriented Development

The City of Baltimore convened an exciting regional summit to discuss transit-oriented development (TOD) initiatives and opportunities in Baltimore. The conference called New Directions/ReConnections: Baltimore Regional Summit on Transit Oriented Development took place from December 10-11, 2007 in Baltimore and aimed to bring together many different stakeholders to discuss TOD within a regional and national perspective.
On Monday, Dec 10, Mayor Dixon lead off a public discussion on the future of Transit Oriented Development in the Baltimore Region.

This summit was co-sponsored by the City of Baltimore Department of Planning, The Central Maryland Transportation Alliance, Citizens Planning and Housing Association, and the Baltimore Neighborhood Collaborative. The summit featured information from Reconnecting America, a national leader in helping communities create development-oriented transit and transit-oriented development. Their main program was the Center for Transit-Oriented Development (CTOD). CTOD is the only national, non-profit effort dedicated to providing best practices, research and tools to support market-based transit-oriented development.
