The Baltimore City Rideshare Program promotes
commute alternatives such as Carpooling/Vanpooling,
Public Transit Services, Telework, Bicycling,
and Walking. Our objective is to improve the quality
of life and help the Baltimore Region reduce congestion
and vehicle emissions, and to protect the ozone
level by reducing single occupancy vehicle traffic.
We offer employer services to assist you with your specific employee commute needs. For individuals who are able to carpool/vanpool we provide a free ride-match service. By commuting with others, you save time, energy, and money. Why not spend your time more efficiently in a carpool or a vanpool. Read, relax, or work on your laptop while you travel. Save money on gas, parking, and other car expenses when you share the cost of transportation with others.
The Department of Transportation provides priority parking for commuters who carpool and park at the metered parking lots under the Jones Falls Expressway. Between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., only permit holders can park at designated meters. To apply for a permit, please call 410-396-7665.
Neighborhoods receive assistance with improving and developing pedestrian and bicycling friendly communities. Learn about combining trips and car-sharing options.
