To celebrate the diversity present in the City of Baltimore

The International Festival, scheduled for August 1 & 2, 2009, promotes opportunities for people of all ethnicities and backgrounds living in the Baltimore region to come together, build relationships, and embrace unity. Festival-goers can savor delicious cuisines, experience cultural performances, and connect with valuable services and resources. An exciting festival of colors, expression, ideas, and sound  - the International Festival is an educational experience which has an enduring impact. For those who participate, children and adults alike, global perspective becomes larger, cultural awareness more enhanced, and the significance of unity more real.

5th Annual Mayor’s Cup Tournament

Soccer competition draws international mix of local players from Asia, Africa, Europe, North & South America 

International community soccer teams representing sixteen countries that span the globe will compete on the athletic fields of Polytechnic/Western High School for the Baltimore International Festivals’ 5th Annual Mayor’s Cup.   Participating team players travel from the greater Baltimore/Washington/Virginia area and beyond for the two-day competition, joined by family and friends with national flags prominently displayed on their team tents.   They come to play, and play to win the sport that unites more cultures on Earth than any other.  Cameroon, the winner of the 2005, 2006 and 2008 Tournament will be returning for the 5th consecutive year. Teams vying for the 2009 competition include: Sierra Leone, Moldova, Ethiopia, China, Germany, Jamaica, Romania, Liberia, Trinidad, Senegal, South Korea, El Salvador and the U.S.
