Mayor Rawlings-Blake and Dr. Wen Announce the Grand Opening of the City’s Newest Early Head Start Center in West Baltimore

Mayor Rawlings-Blake, Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen, representatives from LIGHT Health and Wellness Comprehensive Services, and members of the community celebrated the grand opening of the newest Early Head Start Center in Baltimore City.

Previously, the Baltimore City Health Department’s Early Head Start program operated only through home-based visiting services. The renovated space, operated in partnership with LIGHT Health and Wellness, will provide full program services in a central location and is designed to better serve the needs of young children and communities.

The new center is located within blocks of Douglass High School and Mondawmin Mall to provide additional program services for communities.
