Baltimore City has lots of parks and fun places to visit! There are over 4,000 acres of parks and thousands of trees to enjoy.

Here are some fun things you can do:

  • Go for a walk: Walk through the quiet woods at Druid Hill Park.
  • Relax by the water: Sit by the lake at Patterson Park and watch the birds.
  • Play Golf: Explore the golf courses around Baltimore City
  • Meet new friends: Visit smaller parks to play and talk with neighbors.

Park Rules

Below is a list all the rules for Baltimore City parks to keep them safe and fun for everyone. It’s important because it helps people understand how to take care of the parks and enjoy them responsibly.

Here’s what it includes:

  • Park closed sunset to sunrise, except for park-permitted activities and lit fields/courts.
  • Place trash and recyclables in the appropriate cans.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash, no longer than 6 feet long.
  • Clean up behind your pet (Health Code 10-313).
  • No dumping or littering.
  • No alcohol, except for events with appropriate permits.
  • All organized sports, events, vending, amplified sound, metal detectors, require a permit,
  • Permit holders have a priority use of park areas.
  • Ball fields open according to weather policy. Field use may be prohibited to protect turf.
  • Grill use requires a permit.
  • Cool charcoal with water and dispose in appropriate designated containers.
  • No dirt bikes allowed. No vehicle parking on grass.
  • Protect our trees; do not attach signs/other materials.
  • Speed limit on Park roads – 15 MPH.

ANY VIOLATION OF PARKS RULES

$250 FINE FOR EACH OFFENSE

At Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, we encourage everyone to help keep Baltimore beautiful! But are you interested in doing more? You or your group can organize a cleanup, hiking, or biking event. Everyone is welcome to volunteer, so don't hesitate. Get out there and see the beauty that Baltimore City's trails have to offer.
