Druid Lake

Overview

Druid Lake has been a vital part of Baltimore’s water system and one of the city’s favorite public spaces for more than 150 years. With the Department of Public Works (DPW) Tanks Project nearly complete and the drinking water now stored underground, the lake is entering a new chapter.

Beginning with the opening of the Promenade Loop, Baltimore City Recreation & Parks is beginning the transformation of Druid Lake into a Citywide destination. When the multi-phase project is complete, Baltimoreans will have full public access to the lake’s edge, new on-water programs, and restored natural habitats that connect to the historic stream valley. This project views water access as a civic right and an opportunity to create a sustainable, healthy, and welcoming experience for all. Baltimore City Recreation & Parks invites residents to help shape this vision — one rooted in history and driven by community voices.
