The East Baltimore community came together alongside city leadership to celebrate the reopening of the newly transformed Chick Webb Recreation Center, a project centered on expanding opportunities for residents and creating a stronger space for community connection.
The renovated recreation center includes refreshed basketball courts, an upgraded pool area, fitness and wellness spaces, and a recording studio that offers youth and residents new creative outlets. Designed to serve all generations, the center was reimagined to support recreation, learning, health, and personal growth under one roof.
City leaders described the reopening as part of Baltimore’s continued investment in neighborhoods across East Baltimore, with a focus on providing meaningful resources and accessible programs for families, youth, and seniors.
