What We Do

The Board of Finance helps to monitor the City of Baltimore’s finances to help the city thrive.  The Board’s responsibilities include:

  • Managing City debt certificates
  • Designating where City funds are invested
  • Handling City loans and authorizing notes
  • Monitoring the City’s use of trust funds and investments
  • Recording Board of Finance meetings

The Board of Finance is comprised of the Mayor, the Comptroller and three citizens appointed by the City Council.  The Board meets at City Hall, typically on the fourth Monday of the month.

There being no substantive matters for consideration, the Board of Finance meeting scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026 at 3:00 pm is cancelled.  The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026 at 3:00 pm.  Please mark your calendar accordingly.  Thank you.
