It is with profound sadness that the Baltimore City Board of Elections announces the passing of Ms. Abigail Goldman (Deputy Director of the Baltimore City Board of Elections), daughter of Herschel and Judy Goldman, beloved sister of Mrs. Beth (Nathan) Adler. A service for Ms. Goldman, a practicing Orthodox Jew, was held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Sol Levinson's Chapel in Pikesville, Maryland. Ms. Goldman is survived by her sister, Mrs. Beth (Nathan) Adler and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Goldman served with the Board of Elections for 43 years. She was recognized as a pillar in her community and a stabilizing force within the Board of Elections. She will be remembered for her unwavering commitment, and her service has held an indelible mark on our community.
Abigail's family described five lessons she lived and left as guideposts for her family, friends, colleagues, and community. The significance and importance of family, commitment to a sense of duty and responsibility, acquiring a good name, generosity, and courage.
While Abigail will be greatly missed, the Board of Elections will continue its preparations for the June 23, 2026, Gubernatorial Primary Election with Early Voting beginning June 11, 2026 (continuing through June 18, 2026). Her influence will leave a lasting legacy and serve as a guide for this and future elections by upholding the standards of transparency, accountability, and engagement.
The family will observe Shiva at 3315 Bonnie Road, Baltimore, MD 21208. Shiva will continue through Friday, May 15th, from 10am to 9:30pm (with breaks for lunch and dinner from 1-2pm and 5-6pm, respectively). Shiva will conclude at 1pm on Friday.
