The Baltimore City Board of Elections seeks retired and unemployed Teachers, Administrators, Mentors, and Trainers to support the Primary and General 2026 Election Cycle in the following roles: Professional Trainers, Election Judges, and Election Technicians. 

These support roles are vital to the smooth operations of polling locations on election day. All Trainers, Election Technicians, Chief Judges, and Election judges are compensated for their services. Compensation will depend on the assigned position and the duration of the assignment.

Open Positions

Election Trainers 

Election Trainers are responsible for training adult and student judges on the technical and administrative operations of polling places on election day. Trainers are required to complete a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer program and upon completion conduct training sessions for all Election Judges. Trainers will also provide Helpdesk assistance, field support, and election office operations support. Trainers should be available to serve for a period of six to nine months.

Election Judges

Election Judges are responsible for administering election procedures in the polling places ensuring a fair and accessible election for all eligible voters. Duties include setting up and breaking down a polling place before and after voting hours, checking in voters, assisting voters, and overseeing all election procedures throughout the polling place. Election Judges serve for a period of 4-8 days during early voting and for a minimum of 16 hours on election day during the Primary Election scheduled for June 23, 2026, and the General Election scheduled for November 3, 2026.

Election Technicians

Election Technicians are responsible for setting up the election equipment at polling locations and ensuring that all voting machines, e-pollbooks, cords, cables, outlets, etc., are working and connected and ready to operate at (7:00AM) on Election Day. Election Technicians will serve during early voting and on election day for the Primary Election scheduled for June 23, 2026, and the General Election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
