Overview

Baltimore City Council Members are elected to represent the people in each part of the city. They help make decisions about laws, city services, and how money is spent. Much of this work happens in Standing Committees, where Council Members meet to review ideas, ask questions, and make recommendations.

Standing Committees

Baltimore City Council operates under the leadership of Council President Zeke Cohen, with various standing committees chaired and composed of Councilmembers to address specific areas of governance. Here are the current committee chairs and their respective members.

Transition Committee

The Transition Committee brought together leaders from government, business, philanthropy, health, education, and the nonprofit sector.
