Baltimore City Helps Recover Unpaid Wages for Contract Workers

Wage, OIG & DGS: Together with OECR’s wage staff, the city successfully helped 86 employees recover $92,522 in back wages for work performed under a Baltimore City service contract. The employer decided to terminate the contract with Baltimore City and failed to pay employees for work performed over two weeks. These workers, who provide essential services to the city, were entitled to earn the minimum living wage hourly rate as mandated by Baltimore City.
