Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore City Comptroller's Office hosted its second annual Public Innovation and Efficiency (PIE) Awards Friday. These awards recognize outstanding contributions made by Baltimore City government agencies and employees who play a crucial role in improving and advancing shared goals through their hard work and innovation.
“Working for City government, especially in these current times, often feels like a thankless job," Comptroller Bill Henry said. "This award recognizes that on a daily basis our city employees are making a tremendous impact in the lives of our residents."
The 2025 PIE Award recipients received an Office of the Comptroller citation and a fresh pie from B-More Pies and Sweets (formerly Dangerously Delicious Pies). Including this year’s winners, The Comptroller’s Office has honored 38 City employees for their service.
Thank you to all of our Comptroller's Office departments who submitted nominations for this year's awards!

About the PIE Awards
The Baltimore Comptroller’s PIE Awards have been modelled in part after a program developed by Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand who in 2019, created the PIE program to provide advice, feedback, and recognition to government entities striving to save taxpayer money by implementing the recommendations of his office. Auditor Sand’s office also collects these innovative ideas, known as “PIE recipes,” and shares them with other government entities across Iowa.
