MOHS Code Purple Winter Shelter Season Begins
Today, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) announced that the FY26 Winter Shelter & Code Purple Plan will go into effect on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and will remain in effect until Sunday, March 15, 2026. As the lead agency for the City’s winter shelter response, MOHS will declare “Code Purple” winter shelter activation when the temperature wind chill is forecasted to reach 32°F or below.

City of Baltimore Releases Findings from 2025 Point-in-Time Count of People Experiencing Homelessness
Today, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS), in coordination with the Baltimore City Continuum of Care (CoC), released the 2025 Baltimore City Point-in-Time (PIT) Count Report. Every year, jurisdictions across the United States conduct a PIT Count during the last 10 days of January. The PIT Count provides important data on the number of people experiencing homelessness locally, regionally, and nationally.
MOHS Releases Annual Code Red Extreme Heat Alert Plan
Today, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) announced the FY26 Code Red Extreme Heat Alert Plan will begin on May 15, 2025 and remain in effect until September 15, 2025 in alignment with the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) to ensure services and resources are accessible for individuals experiencing homelessness as the weather gets warmer.

MOHS Releases FY26 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) Competition Request for Proposals
The Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) launched the City Fiscal Year 2026 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) Competition. Projects awarded to receive funding under this request for proposals will perform service(s) during the City Fiscal Year (CFY) 2026 beginning July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
