Vision Statement

The strategic plan for the Mayor's Office of LGBTQ Affairs aims to further the following organizational vision:

Our vision for the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs is a world where LGBTQ individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and equality in all aspects of life. We envision a society free from discrimination, prejudice, and violence based on sexual orientation or gender identity. We strive for LGBTQ individuals to have their relationships recognized and protected and to have equal access to healthcare, education, employment, and legal rights. We aim to build a future where LGBTQ youth can grow up in a supportive and affirming environment where families are loving and accepting, and where LGBTQ elders are honored and celebrated. Ultimately, we envision a world where LGBTQ rights are universally recognized and protected and where love and diversity are celebrated as fundamental human values.
