The Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs provides community members many ways to get involved with our office and local government. You can also meet and work with others who care about helping immigrants and refugees in Baltimore City.

Membership in any of these bodies constitutes a volunteer position. Membership represents neither an offer of employment nor a promise of employment.

Community Advisory Board

The Community Advisory Board provides the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs with feedback and direction and serves as ambassadors of the office within their respective communities.

Language Access Oversight Committee

The Language Access Oversight Committee helps the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs by giving advice and support. They work to make sure people with limited English proficiency can still get the help and information they need.

Hispanic Commission

The Baltimore City Hispanic Commission serves as a liaison between the Hispanic/Latino community and the Baltimore City government by researching issues, recommending policies, and promoting awareness of Hispanic/Latino culture.

New American Leadership Institute

The New American Leadership Institute is an annual program that helps new leaders from immigrant and refugee communities learn about local government. It also teaches leadership skills and gives them a chance to meet and connect with other local leaders.
