What We Do

The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development’s (MOED) mission is simple but powerful.

We believe everyone in Baltimore deserves a fair chance to find a job and build a better future. Some people face extra challenges because of unfair systems in the past, and we work to give them more opportunities. Our goal is to help every resident succeed in their career.

We also support local businesses by connecting them with skilled workers. We partner with the Baltimore Workforce Development Board to make sure job seekers and employers both get the help they need.

About 40.4% of MOED’s local workforce services are paid for with federal funds. The rest comes from state, local, and non-federal resources. Please see our full Steven's Amendment (SA) disclosure.
