What We Do

The Mayor’s Office of Government Relations (MOGR) is the City’s main connection to local, state, and federal governments. We work to promote the Mayor’s priorities and ensure Baltimore’s interests are represented at every level of government. MOGR collaborates with the City Council, Maryland General Assembly, and Congress to advocate for laws and policies that benefit Baltimore.

We coordinate with city agencies to ensure the Mayor’s position is clearly communicated on proposed legislation. In addition, our office organizes bill signings, executive orders, proclamations, and oath of office ceremonies led by the Mayor. We also manage the confirmation process for Mayoral appointees and oversee the selection of individuals to serve on City boards and commissions.

Through these efforts, MOGR helps shape policies that impact Baltimore and works to strengthen the City’s future.
