October 9, 2014 (BALTIMORE, MD)—Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudy S. Chow, P.E., has announced the availability of the DPW Annual Report. It is the first time in years that DPW has issued an annual report.

“I firmly believe that having such a report is an important part of providing transparency and accountability,” said Mr. Chow, who became Director of the agency early this year. “I want the citizens of Baltimore to feel as good as I do about what we have been doing to put your DPW on a path toward being the standard by which other agencies are judged.”

This informative report highlights the department’s major accomplishments in fiscal year 2014, including such initiatives as the new Municipal Trash Can Pilot Program now underway, the implementation of a citywide street sweeping program, BaltiMeter water meter upgrades, and the restructuring of the agency’s administration to make it more responsive and effective. The agency’s financial sustainability information and much more is included in the 25-paged report.

A downloadable version of the report can be found on the City’s website at publicworks.baltimorecity.gov. Copies of the report are being distributed to community centers and libraries. Citizens may also obtain the report at many DPW facilities or by contacting the DPW Communications and Community Affairs Division at 410-545-6541.
