Switching to Electric Vehicles

Baltimore residents are switching to electric vehicles (EVs). We're here to help.
We install EV charging stations in public spaces like parking garages, parks, libraries, and other city-owned spots. One of our partners is Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart program

Request a Charging Station

Need a charging station nearby? You can request one for your neighborhood. If approved, the charger—like other public parking spaces managed by the Parking Authority—will be open to everyone and subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

Expanding Our Efforts

We want to make sure everyone in Baltimore can charge their electric cars. We aim to put 30% of these charging stations in "Equity Zones," where people may not have a lot of money. No matter where someone lives, we want to help them power up their EVs.

Partnerships

We have partnered with Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart program to put in electric vehicle charging stations around the city.

Plans to Expand

We’re working to bring more public EV chargers to Baltimore. The Parking Authority has applied for over $400,000 in grant money to add charging stations on streets and in parking lots. Our goal is to make charging easy and fair for all neighborhoods, with 30% of chargers in low-income areas.

We have partnered with Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart program to put in electric vehicle charging stations around the city.

More Information

If you want to learn more about electric vehicle chargers, the Department of Transportation has a website called "EV Basics" that can help.

Do you need to find electric vehicle chargers near your location? You can check out the PlugShare website or go to EVHype. They have maps showing where you can find these chargers. You can search for chargers by the company that makes them, the type of charger (like Level 2 or DC Fast), or the kind of plug they use.

Also, you can share your experiences about how fast these chargers work and what it's like to use them at different places.

And if you have an electric car or are thinking about getting one, or even if you own an apartment building, you might be interested in the Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart Program. They offer rebates and tools to help you charge your electric vehicle faster and more conveniently. You can learn more about it on their website.
