We offer graffiti removal services to help keep public spaces clean and free from vandalism. Request graffiti removal.
Rat Rubout Program
This is a city-wide initiative aimed at addressing rat infestations and improving public health and sanitation in Baltimore. If you think you have a rat problem, please call 311 or submit an online service request for DPW’s Rat Rubout program to inspect the area, and if necessary, bait the area. Please note, residents must complete and submit a right of entry form before we can enter private property. Learn more about the program.
Mechanical Street Sweeping
The Mechanical Street Sweeping program is a city-wide cleaning service that removes dirt and debris from streets to provide a healthy, safe, and attractive environment for Baltimore City residents and visitors. Find your street sweeping schedule.
Vacant Lot & Property Cleaning
Property Management team improves, community health and safety through the maintenance of vacant properties and city owned properties and lots.
The Property Management team maintains vacant properties by:
- Boarding up abandoned properties
- Cleaning and mowing city-owned lots

Downtown Cleaning Program
DPW and Downtown Partnership works in collaboration by providing strategies to address street-wide problems and cleaning services in the Downtown areas.
Homeless Encampment Cleaning
This is a public health service aimed at maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in public spaces while supporting individuals experiencing homelessness with partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS).
Waterway Cleaning
This service maintains the health and cleanness of Baltimore’s waterways by reducing pollution in the Inner Habor, Chesapeake Bay and other waterways.
Gateway & Business District Cleaning
This service provides cleaning services for gateway areas and business districts to ensure these high traffic, community-focused zones remain clean, attractive and welcoming for residents, businesses and visitors.
