Overview
The Maryland Recycling Act (MRA) says that Baltimore City must send a report every year to the Maryland Department of the Environment. This report includes how much trash and recycling the city collects. Baltimore must recycle at least 35% of all the waste collected from homes and businesses.
Reporting Waste & Recycling Activity: Partnering for a Greener Baltimore
DPW asks businesses, apartment buildings, offices, and others that don’t get trash and recycling pickup from the City to report how much waste and recycling they have. Sharing this information helps the City reach its goal of recycling 35% of all waste. It also helps each place learn more about how much trash they make and throw away. These first reports, called waste audits, are a good way to start learning how to make less trash and recycle more.
