BALTIMORE, MD – This coming June, Baltimore Main Streets (BMS) will kickoff their 25th anniversary celebration by getting residents and visitors to participate in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win a grand prize. Led by Brooke Bomberger, Strategic Development Coordinator of BMS, the one-month long scavenger hunt will encourage residents and visitors to connect with small & minority women own businesses within each of the nine Main Street corridors.
“We support our local program partners in making sure that the small businesses in their historic business districts, many of which are minority and women owned and operated, are able to thrive,” said Charlyn Nater, Director of BMS.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a staycation which entails a two-day, one-night stay at the Sagamore Pendry Hotel, a Fells Point coffee experience, a dinner experience in a different Main Street hotel (selected by the winner), an entertainment activity from a selected Main Street, and a Baltimore Main Street gift basket, including items such as a $100 gift card to cover Lyft rides and dinner experience and $100 gift card to “shop small” at local small businesses within the Main Street districts.
“The Baltimore Main Streets program is a broad program that focuses upon entrepreneurship but covers all aspects of neighborhood revitalization. We will be creating digital content throughout the year, in partnership with the communities, to highlight their rich & diverse character & drive Baltimoreans and visitors to visit the Main Streets,” said Christopher R Lundy, Esq., Director of The Mayor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy & Development (SMBA&D). “Baltimore Main Streets Program are united in their mission to empower Baltimore’s small businesses through strategic mentorship, resources, and hands-on collaboration.”
The Great Chase’s opening celebration will kick-off in the Waverly Main Street district, one of the only original Main Streets remaining. Players will visit landmarks in each historic business corridor, take selfies with them and submit the images digitally for a chance to win a grand prize.
"For 25 years, Waverly Main Street has stood as a testament to the power of community, resilience, and local leadership,” said Diana Emerson, Executive Director at Waverly Main Street. “We’ve built more than just a business district—we’ve built a place where culture, creativity, and connection thrive.
Pop-up social hours will happen throughout each of the nine Main Streets, and will begin on Wednesday, May 28th 2025, at 3100 Greenmount Ave, at 2:00pm. For more information on The Great Chase, follow Baltimore Main Streets on Instagram at @baltimoremainstreets.
