BALTIMORE, MD (Thursday, Nov 20th, 2025) - The Mayor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy and Development (SMBA&D) announced that they will kick off Small Business Saturday via a citywide shopping tour on Saturday, November 29th, 2025. Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore Main Streets will also co-host the event.
Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010 and officially co-sponsored by the Small Business Administration since 2011. It occurs the day after Black Friday and is an annual global awareness campaign to support small and local businesses. 2025 marks 16 years of the campaign's existence.
“As I mark my fourth year hosting Small Business Saturday with Baltimore Main Streets, I’m more inspired than ever by the passion and perseverance of our local entrepreneurs,” said Charlyn Nater, Director of Baltimore Main Streets. “Every purchase made here strengthens our city’s future. Thank you for keeping Baltimore’s heartbeat strong.”
This year’s event will kick off at 10:00am at Harp Vision in Highlandtown (406 S Conkling St., Baltimore, MD 21224). Throughout the day, Mayor Scott plans to visit local businesses within the other 8 Baltimore Main Streets of Belair-Edison, Federal Hill, Fells Point, Hamilton-Lauraville, Park Heights, Pennsylvania Ave, Pigtown, and Waverly.
"Our brick-and-mortar space is more than a store - it’s a hub for wellness and community,” said April and Tyron Harper, co-owners of Harp Vision. “When small businesses like ours are supported, it allows us to keep pouring back into the neighborhoods we serve and to remind people that wellness isn't a luxury, it’s a necessity.”
"Small Business Saturday is an annual reminder to shop locally. These dollars support businesses like Harp Vision to develop and grow to a Main Street location,” said Christopher R. Lundy, Esq., Director of SMBA&D. The SMBA&D team is working to ensure you do not forget to support local small businesses and Baltimore City throughout the year.
