BALTIMORE, MD (June 3, 2026) – Today, the Mayor's Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy & Development (SMBA&D) announced that they will partner with the Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) to host training sessions for snow removal contract bids. This training is for contractors to learn how to apply for an expansion of services and properly fill out SMBA&D bid documents through a mock bid.
The training will be held on two dates – Tuesday, June 23 and Tuesday, July 14th from 10a-1p at the War Memorial Building (101 N Gay St. Baltimore, MD 21202). These are separate sessions from DOT’s in-person snow removal services contract sessions this month which are now full.
“We are excited to partner with DOT for the Snow Removal Vendor Training”, said Naomi Shay, Chief of Compliance for SMBA&D. “In this training, you will be learning about the snow removal contract scope, required equipment, M/WBE certification, expansion of services, and pre-qualification process. In addition, we will be conducting a mock bid. Please come with a computer or tablet and any questions you may have.”
“The Baltimore City Department of Transportation is proud to offer this vendor training in partnership with the SMBA&D, giving small and minority-owned businesses the tools they need to successfully apply for snow-removal contracts,” said Director Veronica P.
