The Traffic Safety Manager plans, organizes, and coordinates traffic safety programs for Baltimore City and supervises the traffic safety staff who carry them out. The role is mostly office based but requires being on site at locations with exposure to inclement weather, noise, and traffic. It includes attendance at evening and weekend meetings and 24-hour callback for emergencies.
Chief of Traffic Division

The Chief of Traffic Division leads DOT's Traffic Division, coordinating traffic projects across the agency and directly overseeing section chiefs and administrative staff. This role oversees capital project design and construction, monitors planning and implementation of Federal Highway Administration projects, and serves as the city's Local Public Agency liaison on federally funded work.
Section Chief of Traffic
Up to $163K Annually
The Section Chief of Traffic leads a team of professional engineers, managers, and technicians responsible for the city's 1,350 traffic signals, traffic control devices, and traffic studies. This role oversees the Transportation Safety Improvement Program and the agency's transportation management center, and reports to the Chief of Traffic with frequent contact across the Director of Transportation, the Mayor's Office, and City Council.
