About the Divisions

Administration  

The Administration group includes Deputy Directors, Chief of Staff, Senior Advisor, Operations Bureau Chief, and Transit Bureau Chief. It also looks over Human Resources, Information Technology, Fiscal, and Contract Administration divisions.

Automated Traffic Violation Enforcement System

The goal of the Automated Traffic Violation Enforcement System program is to make sure traffic rules are followed. This helps change driving behavior, reduce accidents, and make the streets safer.

Community Engagement Division

The Community Engagement Division builds connections with residents and businesses, amplifying community voices in transportation planning.

Conduit Division 

The Conduit Division manages underground cable networks for connectivity.

Contract Administration 

The Contract Administration Division is in charge of handling contracts for construction projects. They also oversee workforce development and civil rights programs, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity. 

Harbormaster

The Baltimore City Harbormaster Office manages over 3,000 linear feet of docking space in the world-famous Inner Harbor.

Maintenance Division 

The Maintenance Division maintains roads, alleys, streetlights, crosswalks, and bike lanes.

Planning Division 

The Planning Division designs infrastructure in line with Complete Streets guidelines to enhance safety mobility, and accessibility.

Right of Way Services Division 

The Right of Way Services Division issues and manages permits for construction, special events, food trucks, and city property access.

Safety Division 

The Safety Division ensures safe crossings, parking enforcement, and vehicle recovery.

Towing Division 

The Towing Division takes care of removing abandoned or illegally parked cars. They also run the city’s impound lot, where cars are stored.

Traffic Division 

The Traffic Division maintains street signs, road markings, signals, and implementing traffic safety improvements.

Transportation Engineering and Construction Division 

The Engineering and Construction Division oversees projects like highways, streetscapes, bridges, pedestrian-friendly enhancements.

Transportation Services

The Transportation Services Division manages the city's transit programs and initiatives, along with the Marketing and Communications division.
