Weekend Road Closures for Friday, April 24th Through Sunday, April 26, 2026
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend. Lane and Ramp Closures Along the Southbound Jones Falls Expressway
This Saturday, temporary lane and ramp closures will be in effect along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway.
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the following lane and ramp closures will be in effect along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for graffiti removal (weather permitting):
- Double lane closure of the southbound Jones Falls Expressway from the 29th Street access ramp to Guilford Avenue
- The Maryland Avenue exit ramp from the southbound Jones Falls Expressway
- Possible closure of the W. 29th Street access ramp to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway
Motorists traveling southbound on the expressway Saturday should remain alert for shifting traffic patterns within the work zone. Because the lane and ramp closures may cause delays, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during this time.
Road and Lane Closures for Baltimore Orioles Home Games
This weekend, the following road and lane closures will be implemented on Friday, April 24th, starting at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25th, starting at 1:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 26th, starting at 10:30 a.m. for Baltimore Orioles home games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards:
- Hamburg Street closed from Leadenhall to Paca Streets
- The northbound service lane closed next to M&T Bank Stadium
- Camden Street closed from Paca to Howard Streets
Traffic Modifications for Sole of The City 10K
This Saturday, traffic modifications and parking restrictions will be in effect for the Sole of the City 10K Run. In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:
- S. Central Avenue between Fleet and Dock Streets
- S. Caroline Street between Eastern Avenue and Thames Street
- Dock Street west of S. Caroline Street
- Point Street between S. Central Avenue and Thames Street
- Wills Street south of Dock Street
- ES Patterson Park Avenue between E. Pratt and E. Lombard Streets
The 10K race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. along Caroline St (near 923 S. Caroline St). Participants will proceed north on Caroline, left on Eastern Ave, and left on the Promenade behind McCormick & Scmidt, heading toward Pier Five and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. The course proceeds clockwise around the lighthouse, left onto wooden bridge towards the Aquarium, then straight between the buildings, and right to head towards Pratt St. At the wide bridge in front of Barnes & Noble, runners will turn left, to continue along the Promenade pass through the Amphitheater, then pass the Science Center, and at the entrance to the BGE Pavilion, turn right to exit Promenade through the Science Center driveway entrance.
Runners will then proceed right onto Key Hwy, right onto Light St, right onto Pratt St and left on Patterson Park Ave to enter Patterson Park across from Lombard St (on left side). The course proceeds right onto main path, left at the fountain, following the perimeter pathway around toward the main circular pavilion, pass the circular pavilion and continue heading downhill to the turnaround point (on the main path roughly between the two baseball fields) before heading back on the lower road (below the circular pavilion), and then around the west side of the duck pond onto sidewalk path leading toward Eastern Ave at Patterson Park Ave. Runners will continue left onto Patterson Park Ave, right on Fleet St, and left on S. Central Ave to finish at the intersection of S. Central Ave and Dock St (heading south).
During the event, temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants. Baltimore City Police & Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the route to help facilitate the movement of traffic. Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the JMA Baseball League Parade
This Saturday, road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect for the JMA Baseball League Parade. In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed on Saturday, April 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:
- NS Edmondson Avenue, between Braddish Avenue and N. Bentalou Street
- WS N. Bentalou Street, between Edmondson Avenue and W. Lafayette Street
- NS W. Lafayette Street, between N. Bentalou Street and N. Warwick Avenue
- ES N. Warwick Avenue, between W. Lafayette Avenue and Riggs Avenue
Parade Route:
- Parade will assemble in the park along the 2700 block of Edmondson Avenue starting at 12:00 p.m.
- Parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. and proceed east to Bentalou Street – north to Lafayette Avenue – west to Warwick Avenue – and north to the rear of Billie Holiday Elementary School #144 to disband.
Temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the parade for the safety of participants. Baltimore City Police & Traffic Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the route to help facilitate the movement of traffic.
Road Closures for the Northwood Baseball League Opening Day Parade
This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Northwood Baseball League Opening Day parade.
The parade will start on Hartsdale Road at Northwood Elementary School and will proceed left on southbound Loch Raven Blvd and left onto Argonne Drive for approximately 2 blocks crossing Hillen Road into the Northwood Baseball League Inc. field to end.
In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be in effect on Saturday, April 25, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Hartsdale Road from Fenwick Avenue to Loch Raven Blvd
- Loch Raven Blvd from Hartsdale Road to Argonne Drive
- Argonne Drive from Loch Raven Blvd to Hillen Road
Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the parade for the safety of participants and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the following road and lane closures will be in effect:
- Partial closure of Mount Vernon Place between Cathedral and Charles Sts, and between Charles and St. Paul Sts (Charles Street will remain open to traffic) 10:00am to 5:00pm (special event –Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage)
- Lortz Lane closure between York Road and Bellona Avenue 12:00pm to 4:00pm (special event - ColorWave Street Fest)
- Robert Street closed between Eutaw Street and Madison Avenue 11:30am to 6:00pm (special event – Madison Park Community Health Fair)
- Chester Street closure between Baltimore and Lombard Sts 7:00am to 3:00pm (crane operation)
- Paca Street lane closures between Saratoga and Lexington Sts 6:00am to 6:00pm (crane operation)
- Lancaster Street closure between Caroline and Bond Sts 6:00am—4:00pm (crane operation)
On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the following road and lane closures will be in effect:
- Claremont Street closure between Conkling and Eaton Sts 1:00pm to 6:00pm (special event – Highlandtown Wine Festival)
- Paca Street lane closures between Saratoga and Lexington Sts 6:00am to 6:00pm (crane operation)
- Lancaster Street closure between Caroline and Bond Sts 6:00am—4:00pm (crane operation)
Traffic Modifications for the Roland Park Country School Red Hot Run 5K and Family Fun Walk
This Sunday, temporary lane closures will be in effect for the Roland Park Country School Red Hot Run 5K and Family Fun Walk. In preparation for the event, the following streets will be impacted on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:
- Roland Ave, between Northern Pkwy and Kenwood Rd
- Northern Pkwy, between Seminary Dr and Roland Ave
- Kenwood Rd, between Roland Ave and Goodwood Gardens
- Goodwood Gardens, between Kenwood Rd and Club Rd
- Club Rd, between Goodwood Gardens and Deepdene Rd
- Deepdene Rd, between Club Rd and Roland Ave
Lane closures will be in effect along the race route wherever possible. Temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Girls on the Run Greater Chesapeake 5K
This Sunday, temporary road and lane closures along with parking restrictions will be in effect for the Girls on the Run Greater Chesapeake 5K. The race will be held within Druid Hill Park and will kick off at 9:00 a.m.
In preparation for the event, the following road closure will be implemented on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- East Drive from Swann Drive to Red Road
Lane closures will be in effect within the park along the race route wherever possible. Temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers’ Market
This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers’ Market, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.
On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect:
- Holliday Street closed from E. Pleasant Street to E. Saratoga Street
- Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
- Hillen Street center lane closure between Front Street and Fallsway
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and should use alternate routes.
