The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and DOT is not responsible for providing status updates.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore St. Patrick Parade and Shamrock 5K Run

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect for the Baltimore St. Patrick Parade.  The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. and will kick off from the intersection of N. Charles and Centre Streets.  The parade will proceed south on Charles Street and east (left) on Pratt Street to the disband area along Market Place.

The parade should last about three hours and periodic breaks in the march will allow vehicular and pedestrian traffic to cross the parade route.  Motorists are advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.

Prior to the parade, the Shamrock 5K Run will be held.  The race will kick off along Charles Street south of Mulberry Street beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Participants will proceed south on Charles Street, east (left) on Conway Street, south (right) on Light Street and east (left) on Key Highway.  Runners will turn around at Jackson Street and proceed westbound on Key Highway, north (right) on Light Street and then east (right) on Pratt Street.  Participants will then turn left on Market Place to finish.

In preparation for the 5K run, a designated travel lane will be separated with traffic cones for participants along the race route where possible.  In addition, Key Highway will be closed to traffic at Lawrence Street starting at approximately 12:30 p.m. for the duration of the 5K Run (access for local traffic will be maintained).

The following road closures will be implemented for these events on Sunday, March 15, 2026, starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

•    Market Place from Pratt to Water Streets 
•    Water Street from Frederick Street to Market Place 
•    S. Charles Street from Madison Avenue to E. Pratt Street
•    Mt. Vernon Place from Cathedral to St. Paul Streets (both sides)
•    Centre Street from Park Avenue to St. Paul Street 
•    Mulberry Street from Park Avenue to Lovegrove Street (south side) 
•    E. Pratt Street from Howard to President Streets 
•    Key Highway will be closed to traffic at Lawrence Street starting at approximately 12:30 p.m. for the duration of the 5K Run (access for local traffic will be maintained). 
•    Lombard Street closed from President Street to Market Place from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be in effect on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 12:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.:

•    Mulberry Street (south side) from Park Avenue to Lovegrove Street
•    Charles Street (east side) from E. Pratt to E. Conway Streets
•    Light Street (west side) from E. Conway Street to Key Highway
•    Key Highway (both sides) from Light to Jackson Streets

The following parking restrictions will also be in effect on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.:

•    Mt. Vernon Place eastbound and westbound from Cathedral to St. Paul Streets
•    Charles Street from Madison to E. Pratt Streets.
•    Centre Street from Morton Alley to Lovegrove Street
•    Pratt Street (north side) from S. Gay Street to Market Place
•    Market Place (west side) from E. Pratt Street to Water Street
•    Light Street (east side) between E. Lombard and E. Pratt Streets (inlet parking lane).
•    Light Street (west side) between E. Pratt Street and Sullivan’s Steakhouse (inlet parking lane)

Transportation Enforcement Officers will assist the Baltimore City Police with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Charm City Circulator (CCC) Service Alert - On Sunday, March 15, 2026, service modifications will be implemented along the Charm City Circulator’s Purple, Orange, Banner, and Cherry Routes because of the 5K race and parade from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Patrons are encouraged to utilize nearby CCC stops on Sunday during the events and to download the Passio Go! app for real-time bus locations along with service announcements and alerts.

Lane Closures for CFG Bank Arena Event

On Saturday evening, temporary lane closures will be implemented in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena for an arena event.

In preparation for the event, the following lane closures will be implemented from approximately 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 14th until 1:00 am on Sunday, March 15, 2026:

•    Howard St left lane closure from Camden to Pratt Sts
•    Lombard St right lane closure from Hopkins Place to Howard St
•    Baltimore St left lane closure from Howard St to Park Avenue
•    Pratt St left lane closure from Eutaw to Howard Sts

Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena during these times should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the following road closure will be implemented: 

•    Curley Street closed between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets 1:00 p.m. Thursday through 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 (special event – St. Patrick’s Day Meet in the Street)

On Friday, March 13, 2026, the following road and lane closures will be implemented: 

•    Curley Street closed between O’Donnell and Elliott Streets 12:00 p.m. Friday through 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 (special event - St. Patrick's Day Weekender @ El Bufalo Tequila Bar & Kitchen)
•    Pratt Street southern curb lane just prior to President Street, and President Street eastern curb lane just prior to Pratt Street will be closed 9:00 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 (Inner Harbor Intersection Improvement Project).  These lane closures will be lifted on Sunday, March 15th prior to and during the Shamrock 5K and the Baltimore St. Patrick Parade.

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the following road and lane closures will be implemented: 

•    S. Charles Street closed between Fort Avenue and Clement Street 5:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (special event – 10th annual St. Paddy’s Day Block Party)
•    Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 southbound left lane closures North Avenue to Fayette Street 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (street lighting work)
