Help keep the city safe this winter!

Shovel & Salt the sideways outside your home and business. Clean the snow off the roof of your car. Check on your neighbors who are elderly and sick. Help those in need. WE GOT THIS!

When it snows, we all play a part in keeping sidewalks clear and safe. Removing snow and ice, especially near crosswalks, helps everyone walk safely.

What to Do:

  • Shovel and salt the sidewalks outside your home or business.
  • Clean the snow off the roof of your car.
  • Check on your neighbors who are elderly or sick.
  • Help those in need.

What You Need to Know:

  • Who Should Shovel: Homeowners and businesses are responsible for clearing sidewalks.
  • How to Shovel: Make a clear path at least 2 feet wide.
  • When to Shovel: Remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 3 hours after the snow stops. If snow stops between 3 pm and 6 am, it should be cleared by 11 am.
  • Important: Avoid dumping snow in bike lanes.

Fines for Not Shoveling:

  • Homeowners: $50
  • Businesses: $100
